My mother in law is going to be helping us buy a house in about a month.  She lives in Santa Cruz so she wont be here for most of the searching.  Do you have to sign a contract with a Realtor to look at properties?  Or can someone take you around to see whats available?

You never have to sign a contract to work with a Realtor.  :thumbsup:  My husband is in real estate and has helped other folks find property in our area from a distance before.   

If she'd like to contact him his name is Mike Macias.  He is at Mission Village Realty  702 J Street, Los Banos.  You're welcome to contact him @ 209-675-1831.  He always answers his phone.  Should you miss him, though, just leave a message and he'll call you right back.  He's a hard worker who will stay in constant contact with her.  He will not end up going MIA halfway through her venture to find a new home.  I think you'll be happy with his work ethic.

***Just re-read your post.  I just realized you are looking for property.  Give him a call and he can take you around to look at property any time.

Yeah I just realised my original post wasn't too clear.  The thing is I would like to go around and look at multiple homes and narrow the search down so when my MIL does come in town, she'll only have to view a few that I already "approve" of. :thumbsup: I will definitely give him a call!  Thank You!

I thought your post was perfectly clear: I just didn't read it thoroughly!!! Ugh!

I let him know that you would be calling - though you're not under any obligation, of course.  When you call he'll get all of your criteria, such as price, size of home, etc.  After that, he'll go through all of the listings in the area and find the homes that best meet your criteria.  Then, he'll print that information off for you to view.  You can then decide which homes you'd like to view and he'll take you through to see them. 

If you call and he doesn't answer, just leave a message.  He ALWAYS picks up or calls back quickly if he should miss a call.  I am in the office in the afternoons M,W,F and almost all day T,Th, so I will probably get to meet you when you come in.  :D

I will second this...Mike Spent a Sunday afternoon with us one day going around Los Banos and showing us houses. He was great

Aw, thx for the kind words Fusion!  My hubby works hard to maintain a great work ethic.  He really cares and puts a lot into this work and his clients.  I'm glad you felt he did a good job for you guys.  :)
