CHP Seeks Assistance in Madera Area Shooting

On Monday, July 27, 2020 at approximately 3:24 AM a California Highway Patrol unit was on an enforcement stop southbound SR-41at Ave. 12 conducting a possible DUI investigation.  At that time, a passing motorist stopped at the officer’s location and advised his passenger had just been shot by an occupant of another vehicle.  The CHP officers immediately advised Dispatch of their situation and requested an ambulance while they started first aid procedures.


The victim was transported via ground ambulance to Community Reginal Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.


The suspect vehicle was described as possibly a silver pick-up truck last seen southbound on

SR-41 from Ave. 12.
