The Pacheco Panthers came into this game with a highly touted offense, they had been beating teams by scoring forty (40) to sixty (60) points on their opponents.

I am sure that was their plan when they showed up at Loftin Stadium to face their crosstown rivals the Los Banos Tigers. The Tigers themselves had their plan and that was to play one of their best defensive games and continue with putting more points on their scoreboard than their opponents. Friday proved that a great defense will win championships for you. The Tigers shut down the Pacheco high powered offense only allowing them to put 21 points on the scoreboard.

Los Banos had two running touchdowns by Justin Incaprera, one by Dasani Tate and the Tate to Landon Ramos screen pass for their 28 points.

Pacheco had a short pass for their first score, a 4yd run by Marcus Ordunez and a final run by Michael Farias to account for their 21 points.

Pacheco received the Tiger’s kick off and began their first drive and methodically ran the ball the length of the field and scored with a short pass to lead 0-7.

The Tigers took the ensuing kickoff and their first drive almost stalled but a penalty on Pacheco kept it alive. The hard inside running came from Antonio Lopez and Justin Incaprera who eventually ran in from 9 yrds out to tie the game at 7-7 after the Chase Ferreira PAT.

After stopping Pacheco after the kickoff Los Banos moved the ball to the Pacheco 9 yd. line where Justin Incaprera ran the ball in for his second TD of the night. The Tigers now led 14-7. Pacheco held off the Tigers on their next drive and then had to start their own drive from their own 2 yd. line after a great punt by Chase Ferreira. Pacheco drove the ball and assisted by some penalties from the Tigers were able to get into the end zone for their 2nd TD and tie the score 14 which ended the first half.

In the 3rd Qtr. The Tigers received the kick-off and started their drive from their own 30 yd. line. In the drive Dasani Tate hooked up with Bryant Camp on a pass and runs by Antonio Lopez and Justin Incaprera got the ball to the Pacheco 5 yd. line. Dasani Tate faked a handoff to Justin Incaprera and ran the ball in himself for the Tigers 3rd TD and they now led 21-14.

Pacheco immediately tied the score when they got another drive, finished by a Michael Farias TD to tie the score 21-21.

Both teams kept each other in bay, with great defenses by both teams, the 3rd Qtr. ended still tied 21-21. With six minutes remaining in the 4th Qtr. The Tigers Justin Incaprera kept getting yards and moving the ball. From the Pacheco 42 yd. line Dasani Tate hit Brandon Ramos with a screen pass. Brandon Ramos then dodged several Pacheco defensive players and got into the end zone for the last score of the game and putting the Tigers up 28-21.

Pacheco then took to the air to move the ball in the final four minutes of the game. They made it to the Tiger 4 yd. line where the Tiger defense made a stand, holding off Pacheco as time ran out. Final Score LB 28- Pacheco 21.

Coach Dustin Caropreso got a water jug poured on him by the team, he was extremely pleased with both aspects of the offense and defense and announced that there would be practice Monday afternoon.

Both Los Banos and Pacheco are now in the playoffs see schedule above.
