In Loving Memory: Bobbie Jo Castaneda

Bobbie Jo Castaneda, 71 of Los Banos, passed away on July 4th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Warren and Virginia May (Tierney) Sullivan on November 28, 1946 in Hollister, CA. She earned her Associates of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development from Merced Community College and was a Head Start Teacher in South Dos Palos where some of her favorite memories included theater productions she created with her students. Throughout the years she and her husband Joe also operated several small businesses, including Joe’s Barber Shop in Los Banos.
Bobbie married Joel(Joe)Castaneda on September 29, 1973. Together they raised three children: Colleen (Hart) Ontiveros, Daniel Hart, and Kimberly Castaneda. She loved travel, adventure, and learning. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her friends, “The Girls” from the gym. She deeply loved her family and cherished times spent together, especially when it involved supporting her grandchildren. Her spirit was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew her and were loved by her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joel Castaneda; her children, Colleen Ontiveros, Kimberly Castaneda, Daniel Hart and wife Jennifer; her grandchildren, Derrick and Danae Adams, Matthew (Jeanine) Fosmire, Joshua Walhting, Jacob and Tyler Hart, and Natalia and Christian Nino; her siblings, Warren “Butch” Sullivan, Jr. and Wanda Sullivan Farias; and nephew, Andres Farias.
Funeral Services will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Los Banos Volunteers for Animals or Valley Crisis Center. Most importantly, love your family, as she loved us. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Los Banos
