In Loving Memory Inez Miranda Baty November 20, 1931 – July 29th, 2021

Inez Laverne Miranda Baty age 89, of Los Banos, California passed away July 29, 2021. She was born on November 20, 1931 in Los Banos to her parents John & Pauline (Lewis) Miranda. Inez graduated from Los Banos High School in 1950 where she was a member of many clubs & organizations. Inez married the love of her life Mack “Duane” Baty on January 3, 1960. Duane knew right away that she was the one for him, and proposed three months later. They were married for 45 years before his passing in 2005.
Inez worked in the office at the Caterpillar Dealership. She was a member of many clubs and organizations, including UPPEC, The Altar Society, Los Banos Golden Agers, YLI, and The Happy Birthday Group, made up of 8 friends who have celebrated birthdays together for over 20 years! Inez was also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was a devout Catholic. She received all of her sacraments from St. Joseph’s Parish. Inez taught many catechism classes throughout the years. She also volunteered at the Los Banos Convalescent home and New Bethany for over 20 years. Inez enjoyed assisting the Priests with Mass and blessings for the patients. Inez was greatly loved by her many godchildren, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Inez had a great love of sports. She enjoyed watching her favorite teams, the New York Yankees and the Golden State Warriors. You could count on having a great conversation with her about the most recent game.
In addition to her loving husband, and caring parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers William and Charles (Mary) Miranda. Inez is survived by her sons, Kurt Baty, of Los Banos; Karl (April) Baty of Los Banos; Eric (Karen) Baty of Nevada City, her 6 grandchildren; Kevin Baty, Steffani Baty, Tyler Baty, Darren Baty, Meg Garcia, & Max Garcia, and her two great grandsons, Neilin Baty & Easton Duane Baty. Inez’s cards and sweet notes sent to her family and friends will be greatly missed. She never forgot a holiday, birthday, or the chance to thank you for helping her. She was so considerate and loving to everyone she met. She will always be remembered as a loving mother & grandmother and a dedicated member of the Catholic Church.
A celebration Mass will be held in her honor at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 9:15 am on Friday, August 13th at 1621 Center Ave, Los Banos. Burial will take place at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Rd, Santa Nella, California. Where she will be laid to rest with her dear husband Duane. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Inez in a special way may make gifts in her memory to The American Diabetes Association or New Bethany of Los Banos.
