In Loving Memory: Lillian Maumoynier

Lillian was born on March 6, 1924 to March 6, 1924 to Mathew and Isabel Frago in Atwater, CA. She passed away peacefully on January 8, 2019.
After graduating from Atwater High School, she attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in San Francisco. As a student nurse during WWII, she was recruited for the United States Cadet Nurse Corp. as a civilian and served until the end of the ward.
She married the love of her life, Albert in 1949. They raised three children on a dairy and cotton farm in Dos Palos, CA. Lillian continued to work as a nurse in Merced and Dos Palos Hospitals. She retired from the Dos Palos Hospital in 1986 after 44 years.
She and Al went on many wonderful trips over the years with their best friends, Joe and Emily Vincent. They traveled to Europe, Canada and extensively throughout the United States. As well as, many gambling trips to Lake Tahoe, Reno and Las Vegas.
Lilian was an avid sports fan. She spent many Friday nights rooting for the Dos Palos Broncos. She loved her San Francisco Giants and was a diehard fan during good and bad times. She attended many games.
Lillian was a devout catholic attending the Sacred Heart Church in Dos Palos. She was a lifetime member of the Young Ladies Institute (YLI).
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Al, her parents, her brothers Bill, Joe and Matt and her sisters, Mary and Belle.
She is survived by her son Rod Maumoynier and his wife Cindy, daughters, Janet Maumoynier and Diane Worrell, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nuns and staff of New Bethany Residential Care and Skilled Nursing for taking such a good care of Lillian for the last 2 1/2 years. They would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital Los Banos for their care and comfort.
