In Loving Memory of Manuel Meneses Rocha

Manuel Meneses Rocha, 89, was born December 7, 1922 in Doze Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores and passed away March 13, 2012 in Hughson, CA. He immigrated t the United States in 1969 and lived in Chino for 16 years and 27 in Dos Palos where he was a Dairy Farmer.  He loved to carve traditional miniature figurines, weave wicker baskets, loved raising goats, going to the auction yards to talk to friends and spending time with family. Manuel is preceded in death by his wife Cecilia Fagundes Rocha, two infant sons Alvaro Alberto Rocha and Jose Arestidos Rocha, his parents Alvaro Lourenco da Rocha and Teresa de Jesus Meneses and a brother John M. Rocha. He is survived by his son Manuel Tarsicio Rocha of Dos Palos, daughters Ana Teresa (Joaquin) Mattos of Hanford, and Maria Alcide (Ezequiel) Correia of Gustine, sisters Maria Azevedo and Sofia Sousa of Corona, brother Jose M. (Isabel) Rocha of Artesia, sister-in-law Maria S. Rocha of Corona, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 1 nephew and 1 niece. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21st at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel from 5 – 7p.m. Rosary and Mass will be held Thursday, March 22nd at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church beginning at 10a.m. Burial will follow at Los Banos Cemetery.
