In Loving Memory: Wilhelmina Costa

Wilhelmina Costa was born June 5, 1925 in Los Banos, California to Maria and Enorato Miranda. She was the third of four siblings. She passed peacefully September 28, 2018 in her home after a short illness. She attended Charleston Elementary School and graduated from Los Banos High School in 1944. She married Manuel A. Costa of Los Banos in 1946. She was happily married for 55 years and blessed with 3 children.
They had a family dairy and eventually went into raising beef cattle and farming. She was very involved in all aspects of the business and in all her children’s activities as well. Her whole life was passionately dedicated to her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings John Paul Miranda, Alice Gonsalves, Edward Miranda, and her daughter Shirlee Costa Capriola. She is survived by her son, Anthony Costa ( Molly), daughter MaryAnne Costa-Bates (Todd) of Elk Grove, nephew Joseph T. Costa (Rose), niece Elaine Johnson (Carey) of Fresno, seven grandchildren; John Capriola (Kim) and Joanna Capriola of Fresno, Anthony J. Costa (Gina), Justin Costa, Jake Costa, Andrew Costa and Joseph Costa, all of Los Banos, five great grandchildren; Geno, Vincent, and Gianna Capriola and Claire Stewart of Fresno and Anthony E. Costa of Los Banos .
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St Joseph’s Church of Los Banos, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Internment at the Los Banos Cemetery District. Services Entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Los Banos.
