Los Banos’ Oldest and Tallest Poinsettia

Perhaps the oldest and tallest poinsettia in Los Banos can be found in the side yard of Frank and Helen Gallichio on 9th Street.  The original plant was a gift from their first Godchild, Dave Daguerre and his parents Loretta and the late Gene Daguerre.  Frank and Helen have been married for 62 years.
They decided to plant the poinsettia in their yard.  It has survived each year.  This year it is taller than the house top and has about 20 blooms.  They have tried planting other poinsettias in the same area with no luck.  They have lived at this location since 1954.
